Model History and Information: In 1991, Opel entered its Omega in the DTM touring-car championship with a full works season, using the Omega Evolution 500 homologation special developed and prepared by Irmscher: a 500-unit run with box-arch bodywork, a large rear wing and a race-tuned 3.0-litre six, built to satisfy Group A rules. Car number 36 was one of the two factory Omega Evolution 500s and was shared by several drivers during the season, including Frank Schmickler, who raced it in rounds eight and ten. This model reproduces that number 36 car in its yellow livery, with ATS sponsor branding and the 'Schmickler' name carried on the windscreen.
