Model History and Information: The Cat® CG260-16 is a large gas engine generator set in Caterpillar's electric power line, built for stationary power generation rated from roughly 2,800 to 4,500 kW depending on configuration. Caterpillar markets the CG260-16 for natural-gas-fueled combined heat and power systems, emergency standby power for facilities, and generation from renewable biogas or coal mine gas. The generator set can also run on natural gas blended with up to 25% hydrogen by volume, giving operators fuel flexibility as gas supplies change.
