Model History and Information: The Cat® 336 is a large hydraulic excavator built for demanding earthmoving, trenching, and truck-loading work. It runs a Cat C7.1 twin-turbo engine and offers three operating modes: Power mode for maximum output, Smart mode, which automatically adjusts power for the highest fuel efficiency, and Eco mode, which reduces engine speed to save fuel. Caterpillar rates the 336 for high-ambient operation up to 52°C (125°F) and cold starts down to -18°C (-0.4°F), and synchronizes engine oil and fuel filter service at 1,000 hours to reduce maintenance costs. This larger 1:35 scale radio-control model reproduces the excavator's arm-and-bucket digging motion, powered by its own onboard batteries.
