Model History and Information: Freightliner unveiled the fifth-generation Cascadia on October 15, 2024, and opened orders on April 10, 2025. Daimler Truck North America credits its aerodynamic changes with 1.9 percent additional fuel economy, and the truck adds an expanded Detroit Assurance safety suite (Active Brake Assist 6, Active Lane Assist 2 and Side Guard Assist 2), the brake-by-wire Intelligent Braking Control System and MirrorCam. It is offered with Detroit DD13 and DD15 engines of up to 505 hp. This model reproduces the sleeper tractor in Night-Shift Black.
