Model History & Information: The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil ("Arrow") was a Nazi Germany World War II heavy fighter built by the Dornier company. The two-seater trainer version was called Ameisenbär ("anteater"). The Pfeil's performance was much better than other twin-engine designs due to its unique push-pull configuration and the lower aerodynamic drag of the in-line alignment of the two engines. It was Nazi Germany's fastest piston-engined aircraft of World War II. The Luftwaffe was desperate to get the design into operational use, but delays in engine deliveries meant that only a handful were delivered before the war ended.

• This 1:72 scale model of the DO 335 A-1 Fighter comes packaged in a clear window style box with an opening front flap. The front flap features a short history of the plane as well as armament, performance, and general information about the plane during the war.
• An instructional sheet is provided inside the box which explains how to put on the plane’s two main propeller assemblies, machine guns, landing gear and landing gear covers.
• In addition to the model, a plastic display stand is included which the plane can be mounted upon.
• The plane can be displayed either on the base provided, or with the landing gear “Down” accessories, the plane can be displayed on its own wheels.
• The plane comes with various accessory pieces which include landing gear and landing gear covers so that the plane can accurately be depicted in either flight mode or sitting on a runway.
• The plane is painted in an accurate and authentic 1940’s German Luftwaffe two-tone brown and green camouflage paint scheme. The bottom of plane, like most German aircraft of the time, is painted light grey.
• Decal highlights include German Luftwaffe markings and logo, “VG” and “PH” designations, and a tail number of 102.
• Black German Iron Cross logos and “VG PH” can be seen underneath each wing.
• Clear plastic canopy complete with an interior featuring pilot’s seat and controls.
• This plane features two engines, one in the front and one in the rear.
• Two 3-bladed Ratier propellers accessories are included. They are to be placed on the front of each of the two engines and will spin freely.
• This 1:72 scale military model plane would make an excellent addition to a WWII diorama, or on display in a glass display cabinet.

Packaging: The model comes shipped in a window-style box with an opening front flap with information such as armament capabilities and history of the real plane. The model set comes with a plastic display base that the plane can be mounted on if desired by the collector. The display base is in two parts and simply snaps together. Optional landing gear and landing gear cover accessories are provided. An instructional sheet is provided explaining the optional assembly of landing gear and landing gear cover accessories.
