Model History and Information: BMW launched the M3 Lightweight in January 1995 as a limited special series exclusive to North America, and built 126 units between January and October 1995. It used the production S50B30US engine and was delivered with an additional competition equipment package. Aluminum door skins and the deletion of the radio, air conditioning and sunroof saved about 200 lb, and every car was finished in Alpine White with Motorsport flag decals, a raised rear wing and an adjustable front splitter.
