Model History and Information: The Alpina B10 Bi-Turbo is Buchloe-based tuner Alpina's reworking of the BMW 5 Series (E34), built between 1989 and 1994 in a run of 507 cars. Alpina fitted two Garrett T25 turbochargers and forged pistons to BMW's 3.4-litre M30 straight six, raising output from the standard engine's 211 hp to 360 hp and torque to 520 Nm, paired with a Getrag 5-speed manual gearbox. At its launch it was documented as the fastest production sedan in the world, with a top speed of around 180 mph. This example is finished in Orange. The 1:43 model has a sealed body with no opening parts and free-rolling wheels, presented on the Solido display plinth.
