Model History and Information: The Honda Civic Type R is a front-wheel-drive track weapon and a lap-record holder among hot hatches. The current FL5 generation was unveiled on 20 July 2022 as the sixth Civic Type R, built on the eleventh-generation Civic platform with a wider track and a stiffer bodyshell than its predecessor. It is powered by a 2.0-litre VTEC Turbo four-cylinder engine producing up to 329 PS, sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. In April 2023, Honda used an unmodified FL5 to set a new front-wheel-drive lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with a time of 7:44.881. This example is finished in Rallye Red.
