F-5F Tiger II 73-0891, 58th TTW, USAF, Williams AFB, 1979 (1:72 Scale)
Model History and Information: The two-seat F-5F added a lengthened forward fuselage and a second cockpit while retaining the Tiger II's combat capability, serving mainly as a conversion and continuation trainer. At Williams Air Force Base, Arizona, the 425th Tactical Fighter Training Squadron flew F-5s to train aircrews from allied nations acquiring the Tiger under US military assistance programs. Foreign students learned type conversion, tactics and gunnery before returning home, and mobile teams supported operators abroad. A USAF-serialled F-5F such as this supported that instruction in the late 1970s, when Williams was a hub for international Tiger II training.
