Mirage IIIC 10-RF/No.31, EC 2/10 Seine, French Air Force, France, May 1978 (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 8.4 x 8.4 x 2.8 in.
Model History and Information: The Dassault Mirage IIIC was France's first Mach-2 interceptor, a delta-winged single-seater that entered service in the early 1960s and formed the backbone of French air defence through much of the Cold War. Among the squadrons that flew it was Escadron de Chasse 2/10 'Seine', based in mainland France, whose Mirages stood ready to intercept intruding aircraft in the metropolitan air-defence role. Finished in natural metal with unit markings rather than camouflage, this aircraft, coded 10-RF, represents a Seine Mirage IIIC in home service. The type gave France a fast-climbing, radar-equipped interceptor and launched the hugely successful Mirage III family.
