Model History and Information: The Cat 6060 is a large hydraulic mining shovel used to load ultra-class haul trucks in surface mines, offered in front-shovel and backhoe (mass-excavation) configurations. It can be built with two Cat 3512C diesel engines delivering a combined 3,000 hp (2,240 kW), or with an optional AC electric drive. The shovel carries a 34 cubic meter (44.5 cubic yard) bucket rated to 4-pass load 218 to 227 tonne (240 to 250 ton) trucks such as the Cat 793D, 793F, and MT4400D AC, and its bucket payload rating is 61 tonnes (67 tons). This coal configuration front shovel is set up for coal-mine operations running 250-ton haul trucks, where the 6060's engine output and hydraulic system support fast cycle times and high-volume, four-pass loading.
