Model History and Information: The Cat 301.7 CR is a mini hydraulic excavator in the roughly 1.7-tonne class, and its compact-radius (CR) design keeps the counterweight's swing within the machine's tracks, letting it work close to walls and obstacles on landscaping, utility, and confined-space jobs. Caterpillar's Next Generation update added a color LCD monitor with fuel and coolant gauges, machine and maintenance monitoring, and a numeric security code, along with adjustable wrist rests and an optional suspension seat for operator comfort.
