Model History and Information: The 13th (Slovak) Staffel of Jagdgeschwader 52 was manned entirely by Slovak personnel, formed in October 1941 and attached to the Luftwaffe on the Eastern Front. It operated the Messerschmitt Bf 109, flying the E series before transitioning to the F model at Krasnodar in early 1943. Jan Reznak (1919-2007) served with this Slovak squadron and is recorded as the top-scoring Slovak fighter ace of the Second World War, credited with 32 aerial victories on the Eastern Front. During this period the unit operated in the Kuban and Crimea sectors.
