Model History and Information: Caterpillar introduced the D9T in 2004 to replace the D9R, fitting the large track-type tractor with the Cat C18 ACERT inline-six engine in place of the D9R's V8 3408 HEUI engine and switching from clutch-and-brake to differential steering; flywheel power stayed at 410 horsepower.
