F-35B Lightning II ZM-161, Royal Air Force (beast mode, 2 x meteor missiles inside weapon bay) (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 8.9 x 8.9 x 3.1 in.
Model History and Information: This aircraft represents a Royal Air Force F-35B in so-called beast mode, a loadout that trades low-observable stealth for maximum firepower by carrying weapons on external wing pylons in addition to the internal bays. The configuration shown pairs the jet with two MBDA Meteor missiles, a European beyond-visual-range air-to-air weapon powered by a throttleable ramjet that reaches around Mach 4 with a range exceeding 200 kilometres and a large no-escape zone. The B is the STOVL member of the Lightning II family, which the United Kingdom operates jointly from land bases and the Queen Elizabeth-class carriers. Beast-mode fits are typically employed once air superiority permits reduced emphasis on stealth.
