Model History and Information: Operation Highmast was the United Kingdom's 2025 Carrier Strike Group deployment to the Indo-Pacific, led by the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, which sailed on 22 April 2025 carrying embarked F-35B stealth fighters flown by Royal Air Force and Royal Navy crews. During an August show of force in the Philippine Sea alongside United States and Japanese task groups, a British F-35B landed aboard the Japanese vessel Kaga, an Izumo-class ship being converted for fixed-wing operations. It was recorded as the first landing of a British jet on a Japanese ship, marking a milestone in UK-Japan defence cooperation and in allied interoperability across the region.
