Model History and Information: Escadron de Chasse 3/11 'Corse' traces its lineage to 1933 and carries the traditions of two historic escadrilles, SPA 88 'Serpent' and SPA 69 'Chat'. SPA 88 originated as a First World War unit, and in 2017 the French Air Force marked its centenary with a commemorative Mirage 2000-5F scheme. The Mirage 2000-5 is a delta-wing, single-engine multirole fighter fitted with the RDY radar, MICA missiles and a modernized cockpit. In this period the type equipped the Corse for air-defense duties, the squadron later basing at BA 188 in Djibouti. The unit's history spans the Second World War, Indochina, the Suez Crisis, the Gulf War and Bosnia.
