Model History and Information: This aircraft wears the same marking celebrating twenty years of Mirage 2000-5 service with the Republic of China Air Force, introduced in 1997 and flown by the 499th Wing at Hsinchu. Here the interceptor is shown in a full air-defense configuration, carrying two Magic infrared short-range missiles and four MICA medium-range missiles. That mix reflects the fighter's standard alert loadout: MICA provides radar-guided beyond-visual-range engagement through the RDY radar, while Magic covers close-in combat. Taiwan's fleet, ordered as 48 single-seat and 12 twin-seat airframes, was acquired to counter mainland fighter modernization and has stood continuous quick-reaction alert over the approaches to the island.
