Model History and Information: The Su-30MK2V is the Vietnamese export configuration of the KnAAPO-built Su-30MK2, itself a modernized development of the Su-30MKK originally supplied to China. Vietnamese aircraft incorporate minor changes including a redesigned ejection seat suited to their pilots and updated communications equipment; Vietnam commonly designates the type simply Su-30MK2. The two-seat fighter offers multirole capability with air-to-air and maritime-strike armament, reflecting the country's coastal-defence priorities.
