Model History and Information: The Su-30SM is a Russian-developed two-seat multirole fighter, an Irkut-built derivative of the Su-30MKI adapted with domestic-standard avionics, radar and equipment. It retains canards, a digital fly-by-wire system and thrust-vectoring engines for high agility across air-to-air and ground-attack missions. Kazakhstan is an established operator, having contracted twenty-four aircraft in stages from 2015 and taking its first four deliveries that April to modernize its fighter force. Aircraft of this class have taken part in Russian-hosted military aviation events and competitions. Specific unit, crew and individual-airframe details for this example could not be independently confirmed. NATO applies the reporting name Flanker-H.
