Model History and Information: The Su-35S is a heavily upgraded single-seat derivative of the Su-27, built by Russia's United Aircraft Corporation with a reinforced airframe, thrust-vectoring AL-41F1S engines and the Irbis-E passive electronically scanned array radar. China became the first foreign customer, contracting twenty-four aircraft; Russia completed deliveries in 2019, after which the type entered People's Liberation Army Air Force service. It is optimized for long-range air-superiority work and can carry a mix of air-to-air missiles. The specific serial, unit and exact weapons configuration of this example could not be confirmed. NATO assigns the reporting name Flanker-E; it is sometimes nicknamed the Super Flanker.
