Model History and Information: The Cat 163H was a motor grader in Caterpillar's H-series, used for grading, road building, and haul-road maintenance with an articulated frame and long moldboard. It was powered by the Cat 3306 engine, a naturally aspirated six-cylinder known for a high displacement-to-power ratio and for the reliability of Caterpillar's 3306 family across other machines. Variable horsepower was standard on the 163H, and its all-wheel-drive system worked across gears one through seven forward and one through five reverse, improving traction in snow, mud, and sand for tasks from ditch cutting to snow winging.
