Model History and Information: Peterbilt unveiled the Model 589 on May 9, 2023, as the successor to the Model 389, and production began in January 2024 in Denton, Texas. It has an aluminum hood offered in 121-inch or 131-inch BBC lengths, comes as a day cab or with 44, 58, 72 or 80-inch sleepers, and is available with the PACCAR MX-13 engine (up to 510 hp) or the Cummins X15 (up to 605 hp). This model reproduces a Legendary Red tandem-axle tractor with the 131-inch hood, a 58-inch sleeper and the Legendary Package.
