It is powered by a Cat C4.4 turbocharged diesel engine producing 124 hp (92 kW) net, meeting U.S. EPA Tier 3 standards. Standard dig depth reaches 17.2 feet, extending to 21.3 feet with the optional extendible stick, with a bucket digging force rated at 17,746 lb. The loader bucket carries a 1.75 cubic yard general-purpose capacity. The E-Series update brought a redesigned backhoe with increased digging forces, pilot-operated joystick controls, and a load-sensing hydraulic system that automatically adjusts flow to work demand, while 198-degree bucket rotation aids operation in confined spaces.
