Model History and Information: The Cat 725 is a three-axle articulated dump truck rated at 26.5 tons (24 tonnes) payload, built to haul material across rough and soft ground where rigid trucks struggle. It is powered by a Cat C13B engine producing 352 hp (263 kW) gross and 345 hp (257 kW) net at 1,700 rpm, meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions standards, and carries a heaped body capacity of 19.6 cubic yards (15 cubic meters). Its articulated steering and all-wheel drive, combined with an advanced suspension system, allow greater speed over rough terrain while softening impact loads, and Advanced Automatic Traction Control reduces wheel slippage on soft or slick ground. A combined hoist/transmission lever is designed to cut operator input by up to half compared with separate controls.
