Model History and Information: The Cat® 972M is a full-size wheel loader built for demanding loading and load-and-carry work in aggregates, quarrying, and heavy construction. The M-series update to the 972 carried the model through Caterpillar's broader M-series wheel loader redesign, which added electro-hydraulic joystick steering as an option to conventional steering-wheel controls and updated the engine and hydraulic systems to the era's emissions standards. It sits in Caterpillar's wheel loader range below the larger 980 and 988 while offering more capacity than the mid-size 950 and 966 lines. This 1:87 scale replica reproduces the 972M's general proportions for play and display.
