Model History and Information: Volvo introduced the 850 R in spring 1996 as a high-performance successor to the 850 T-5R. The automatic version used the 2.3 litre B5234T5 turbocharged five-cylinder rated at 240 PS, while the manual used the B5234T4 rated at 250 PS. The 850 range was built from 1991 to 1997, and Volvo entered an 850 Estate with Tom Walkinshaw Racing in the 1994 British Touring Car Championship. This version is finished in Red.
