Model History and Information: The MiG-19PM was the missile-armed, radar-equipped interceptor version of the Soviet MiG-19. From 1957, production of the all-weather MiG-19 fighters at the Gorky factory switched to this variant. The cannons were removed, and four air-to-air missiles guided by a radar beam were carried on pylons under the wings. The Soviet Union was both the manufacturer and an operator of the type, which was also flown by several Warsaw Pact air forces, including Poland and East Germany. This model represents a Soviet MiG-19PM carrying the number 18.
