Model History and Information: The Mirage 2000B is the two-seat version of the Dassault Mirage 2000 delta-wing fighter, and the only two-seat prototype of the test programme first flew on 11 October 1980. Escadron de Chasse 2/5 Ile-de-France traces its origin to a Free French fighter unit formed in 1941 and has been based at Orange-Caritat since March 1951. From 1998 the squadron handled operational conversion for all Mirage 2000 pilots and flew 17 two-seat Mirage 2000B aircraft until it was disbanded on 22 June 2022. This model represents a Mirage 2000B coded 5-OU of that squadron, carrying titling for the 60th anniversary of the Free French Air Forces and dated 2002.
