Model History and Information: The F/A-18E Super Hornet is the single-seat version of the Boeing carrier-based strike fighter family. VFA-103, based at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia, adopted the Jolly Rogers name and its white skull and crossbones insignia after VF-84, the squadron that previously carried them, was disestablished in October 1995; the two units have no lineal link. VFA-103 has flown the F/A-18F Super Hornet since 2004 and added the single-seat F/A-18E in 2024. From August 2022 to April 2023 the squadron deployed with Carrier Air Wing 7 aboard USS George H.W. Bush. This model represents a Jolly Rogers F/A-18E of VFA-103 in U.S. Navy service in 2023.
