Su-30SM Red 28, Russian Air Force, Latakia
Product Dimensions: 11.99 x 8.04 x 3.48 in.
Model History and Information: The Su-30SM is a two-seat multirole fighter developed as the Russian domestic version of the thrust-vectoring Su-30MKI and built by Irkut. It made its maiden flight on 21 September 2012, and the Russian Air Force received its first two serial aircraft that November. Su-30SMs were among the aircraft Russia sent to Syria in September 2015: satellite imagery showed four parked at the airfield near Latakia on 18 September, and by late December 2015 about sixteen were reported at Khmeimim Air Base, where their role included target illumination for bombers. This model represents a Su-30SM wearing red 28 during that Syrian deployment.
