F-8E Crusader 150326, USS Ticonderoga, 1967
Product Dimensions: Pending manufacturer confirmation.
Model History and Information: The F-8E was the Navy's F8U-2NE version of the Vought Crusader, fitted with the AN/APQ-94 radar in an enlarged nose and an infrared sensor ahead of the canopy. USS Ticonderoga deployed to Vietnam from late 1966 to mid-1967 with Carrier Air Wing 19, flying combat missions against targets in North Vietnam. A photographic record of that cruise identifies F-8E Bureau Number 150326 as an aircraft of Fighter Squadron 191, the Satan's Kittens, and a kit manufacturer's instruction sheet also places it on that cruise. This model represents that Crusader aboard the carrier in 1967.
