M998 HMMWV 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, 3rd Combat Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Gulf War, Iraq, February 1991 (1:64 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 2.81 x 1.33 x 1.13 in.
Model History and Information: The M998 was the basic cargo and troop-carrying version of the HMMWV family selected by the U.S. Army in 1982. Its four-wheel-drive layout and wide track were intended to replace several light utility vehicle types with one flexible platform. In the 1991 Gulf War, HMMWVs handled transport, command, liaison and air-defence-support tasks across Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The vehicle was manufactured by AM General, which built the M998 and its related variants at a production plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, with output beginning in April 1984. The M998 designation identifies the base cargo/troop-carrier configuration without a winch, distinguishing it from winch-equipped variants such as the M1038 within the same HMMWV family.
