Product Dimensions: 12.2 x 12.2 x 4.7 in.
Model History and Information: The 497th Tactical Fighter Squadron earned its Night Owls name flying after dark. Assigned to the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing at Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base from December 1965, the squadron specialised in night interdiction as movement along the Ho Chi Minh Trail shifted almost entirely into the hours of darkness. In support of Operation Commando Hunt its crews flew as night Fast Forward Air Controllers over Laos, directing strikes against choke points such as the Mu Gia and Ban Karai passes. LORAN-equipped F-4Ds gave the wing accurate navigation and bombing in darkness and poor weather, and the 497th remained at Ubon until 1974.
