Model History and Information: The BAC Jet Provost T.5 was the pressurised development of Britain's long-serving jet basic trainer, produced by the British Aircraft Corporation and used by the Royal Air Force until the type's retirement in 1993. The Central Flying School, the RAF's institution for training flying instructors, was based at RAF Little Rissington from 1946 to 1976 and provided the service's official aerobatic display teams. Its 'Red Pelicans' team flew Jet Provosts and served as the RAF's premier aerobatic team in 1964, before that role passed to the Gnat-equipped team that became the Red Arrows. The Red Pelicans continued afterwards as a Central Flying School display team using Jet Provost trainers. The individual serial and markings shown reflect the scale model's depicted subject.
