Model History and Information: Navistar unveiled the International LoneStar at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show and marketed it as the flagship of its International truck brand, slotted above the LT. International called the approach Advanced Classic, in which technology, styling and aerodynamics converge to deliver fuel efficiency in a Class 8 highway truck. The company cited the late-1930s International Harvester D-Series as its primary design influence, paying homage to the bullet-shaped headlight and the V-shape at the bottom of the grille, and the truck is built with a set-forward front axle and an extended hoodline. Diecast Masters added LoneStar sleeper tractors to its 1:50 Transport Series, and this release is the sleeper-cab tandem tractor in black, with chrome exhaust stacks rising behind the cab.
