F-15J Eagle, JASDF, 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 2022
Product Dimensions: 5.31 x 3.57 x 1.54 in.
Model History and Information: The 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron was formed on 1 December 1981 with the F-4EJ and converted to the F-15J from 1997, the last of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's original Eagle squadrons to do so. It belongs to the 6th Air Wing at Komatsu, on the Sea of Japan coast, and its aircraft carry a golden eagle on the fin inside a stylised numeral six for the wing. In September 2022 the squadron's aircraft 52-8951 appeared in a special scheme replicating the F/A-18 flown by 'Maverick' in the film Top Gun: Maverick, unveiled at the Komatsu Air Base festival on 19 September 2022, with the 306th's own badge on the tail in place of the film's insignia.
