Model History and Information: The Cat® 395 is Caterpillar's Next Generation large excavator, introduced to replace the 390F with, Caterpillar says, up to 10 percent more production, twice the structural durability, and up to 20 percent lower maintenance costs. It runs a Cat C18 engine rated at 543 hp (405 kW), with an operating weight of about 205,471 lb, and a dedicated hydrostatic swing circuit borrowed from larger Cat mining shovels such as the 6015B. Beyond its standard bucket, the 395 can be fitted with Cat work tools including hydraulic hammers and shears for demolition and quarry work. This release pairs the General Purpose (GP) version with two additional work tools, a shear and a hammer. This 1:50 scale model reproduces that multi-tool GP configuration.
