Model History and Information: The Cat® 966 is a full-size wheel loader used for truck loading and load-and-carry work in aggregates, construction, and industry, introduced by Caterpillar in 1960 as a 140-horsepower machine with a 2.75-cubic-yard bucket and produced through many generations since. This 1:50 scale model reproduces the M-series 966 with a factory-applied weathered finish, adding scuffed paint, worn decals, and dirt buildup to the tires and lower body to depict a machine that has been in daily use, and it is mounted on a dirt-textured display base rather than the clean finish used on standard-production replicas.
