Model History and Information: The Cat 320 is Caterpillar's standard model in the 20-ton excavator size class. In November 2017 Caterpillar introduced a Next Generation 320 together with the 320 GC and 323, presenting the three machines as more efficient and less costly to fuel and maintain than the models they replaced. The new 320 came with integrated Cat Connect technology, including Cat Grade with 2D, a system that guides the operator on depth, slope and horizontal distance to grade.
