A39 Tortoise Heavy Assault Tank – UK British Army WWII (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 5.47 x 2.13 x 1.64 in.
Model History and Information: The A39 Tortoise was Britain's answer to the fear of attacking the heavily fortified Siegfried Line. It sacrificed strategic mobility for armour and a 94 mm gun powerful enough to defeat concrete positions and German heavy tanks. Six pilot vehicles were completed, but the war ended before the programme could enter service. The Tortoise is therefore a fascinating counterfactual: a real, tested prototype rather than an operational tank, later made famous to a new audience through armoured-vehicle games. The configuration and markings represented are: A39 Tortoise Heavy Assault Tank – UK British Army WWII (1:72 Scale).
