Model History and Information: The Boxer is an eight-wheeled armored fighting vehicle family developed by the ARTEC consortium, built around a common drive module that accepts interchangeable mission modules. The Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle, or CRV, is a development of the baseline Boxer created for the Australian Army under the LAND 400 Phase 2 program. Its reconnaissance variant carries the Rheinmetall two-person Lance turret armed with a 30mm MK30-2/ABM automatic cannon. In March 2024 the German Bundeswehr ordered up to 123 Schwerer Waffenträger Infanterie heavy weapon carriers, a vehicle based on the Boxer CRV with the same two-person Lance turret.
