Model History and Information: The M1A2 SEP v3, designated M1A2C by the U.S. Army, is an upgraded version of the General Dynamics Land Systems Abrams main battle tank. Its System Enhancement Package improves electrical power generation and distribution, adds an ammunition data link that lets the fire-control system work with advanced 120mm rounds, and introduces a new armor package for greater protection against improvised explosive devices. The 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, known as the Greywolf Brigade, was the first Army brigade to receive the tank, with deliveries to its 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas, in July 2020.
