Model History and Information: Porsche offered the Cayman S Design Edition 1 as a special series limited to 777 units, each identified by a plaque on the glovebox lid. Its black exterior paid tribute to the Chronograph 1 watch designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche 35 years earlier. The car was launched in Germany in November 2007 and in the United States in January 2008, and came with a case holding a Flat Six chronograph, a pocket knife, sunglasses, a pen and a key ring, all in black.
