Model History and Information: This 1:50 Diecast Masters model reproduces a 40-foot dry goods sea container in green with EVERGREEN in white letters along the side. Evergreen Marine Corporation was established by Dr. Yung-Fa Chang on September 1, 1968, starting out with a 15-year-old general cargo ship. The company launched its containerization project in 1975 with newly built fast container ships connecting the Far East and the East Coast of the United States, and by 1985 it had become the largest container carrier in the world. Since 2007 its container services have traded under the Evergreen Line name. Forty-foot dry freight boxes like this one are built with corrugated Corten steel walls.
