Model History and Information: Daimler Trucks North America unveiled the new Freightliner Cascadia on September 1, 2016, in Colorado Springs, presenting it as a completely new truck rather than an update of the model introduced in 2007. Production of the 2018 model year truck began in early 2017, starting with the 126-inch bumper-to-back-of-cab day cab and the 72-inch raised roof sleeper cab. Optional Aero and AeroX packages added longer side extenders, lower chassis fairings, drive wheel covers and wheel fairings. This 1:50 tandem tractor with the 72-inch sleeper is finished in black.
