Model History and Information: The Aston Martin DB5 was introduced in 1963 as an update of the DB4, with a 3,995 cc twin-cam straight-six rated at 282 bhp. Just over 1,000 were built during a production run of about two years. The car became widely known through Goldfinger, released in September 1964, in which James Bond drove a DB5. The prototype used for the film was equipped with Secret Service gadgets at Pinewood Studios and given a Silver Birch respray. This version is finished in Silver Birch.
