Model History and Information: The Citroën DS was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on 6 October 1955 and took about 12,000 orders on the first day. Its hydropneumatic suspension replaced steel springs with pressurised nitrogen spheres and gave self-levelling and adjustable ride height. The simpler ID followed in 1957, and in 1970 the D Spécial and D Super replaced it. The D Spécial used a 1,985 cc four-cylinder engine. DS production ended on 24 April 1975 after more than 1.3 million cars were built in France. This version is finished in Noir.
