Model History and Information: Ford developed the GT40 to beat Ferrari, which had won Le Mans six years in a row from 1960 to 1965. Production Mk I cars used the 289 cubic inch (4.7 litre) Ford V8 also fitted to the Mustang, and 31 were built in road trim at the Slough factory. Ford won Le Mans in 1966 with the Mk II, and the John Wyer JW Automotive Mk I won the race in 1968, with the same chassis winning again in 1969. This version is white with blue stripes.
