Model History and Information: The Subaru Impreza 22B STi was built in 1998 marking Subaru's 40th anniversary and the Impreza's third consecutive World Rally Championship manufacturers' title, won between 1995 and 1997. It used a 2.2-litre EJ22G boxer engine producing 280 PS and a fender-flared widebody drawn from the Peter Stevens-designed WRC car, widening the track by 80 mm, along with a WRC-inspired front bumper, a unique bonnet and an adjustable rear wing. Subaru built 400 examples for the Japanese market, selling out within 48 hours, plus 24 additional cars for export: 16 to the UK, 5 to Australia and 3 prototypes. This example is finished in black.
